For this blog, I read an article about the war in Iraq. President Obama recently announced that 12,000 troops would be withdrawn from the war. There are currently 142,000 troops over in Iraq. He has also announced his plans to withdraw most of the troops from Iraq by the end of August 2010. In addition, 4,000 British troops will also be withdrawn. There are many mixed reactions on this topic. House speaker, Nancy Pelosi expressed concern when she said that Obama's plan to leave Iraq is too large. I personally do not think that pulling out of the war is a good idea at all. If we pull out of the war, what message is that sending to other countries about us? I think it's telling them that we are weak, and can't stand to fight any longer, and that we are quitters. Is that what we want people to think about when they think of us?
